1st Place - Out & About - Extending Our Passion

While the street is crowded and a lot of people is moving fast with the flow, an old man stands aside and doesn't move. He wants to take a photograph or may be film the scene, and with technology he found for himself an interesting angle. With the help of his tripod and digital camera, he doesn't need to jostle to obtain a great picture. Technology helps him to do what he wants in a simple and relaxed way. Above all, no efforts was needed. The message is: If we want to pursue our passion, age is not a restriction. At the same time, technology will help us to go further and reach for it easier. It was during the 2012 Lunar (Chinese) New Year celebration in China Town, London. There were many interesting performances happening in the street and everyone wanted to take pictures. It was so crowded that it seemed impossible to take a clear shot. I was doing the same and I was struggling. When I almost gave up, I look beside me and was surprised by this man. The way he took photographs was so simple and relaxed. Especially while all the young people are struggling, he is doing more than just fine. And my thought was without the help of technology (tripod/digital camera), he would never be able to achieve it.
